What a food truck website actually needs

Your schedule, a menu people can read, a catering form and a few other things that turn searches into bookings.

Instagram is great for telling people where you’re parked today. But when someone searches your truck’s name, or “food truck catering Denver,” a website is what shows up, and it’s what makes an event planner pick up the phone. It doesn’t need to be big. It needs to do a few things well.

Where you are and when

Put your weekly schedule on the homepage, where people see it first. Make it easy to update from your phone, and link to Instagram for last-minute changes. If someone drives across town and you’re not there, you lose a customer for good.

A menu people can actually read

A photo of your menu board is hard to read on a phone and invisible to Google. Put the menu on the page as real text, with prices. It loads faster, it’s easy to update, and Google can show it when people search for the dishes you sell.

Catering and private events

For many trucks this is where the real money is: weddings, quinceañeras, office lunches, school events. Give it its own page and a simple request form that asks for:

  • Event date and time
  • Location
  • Number of guests
  • Type of event
  • Best way to reach them

A clear form gets you better leads than “DM us for catering.”

Photos that make people hungry

Use your own photos of your food, your truck and your team, not stock pictures. A phone in good daylight is enough. Real photos build more trust than perfect ones.

Fast on a phone

Most of your visitors are on their phone, often standing outside. If the page takes more than a few seconds to load, they’re gone. Big buttons to call, get directions or follow you on Instagram should be easy to tap with one thumb.

Connected to Google

Your website and your Google Business Profile should share the same name, phone number and links. That consistency helps you show up when people search nearby.

What you don’t need at the start

You don’t need ten pages, a complicated ordering system or a blog on day one. Home with your schedule, menu, catering and contact is a strong start. You can grow from there.
